We've been keeping busy this summer doing a lot of fun things. The weather has actually not been too hot which this 8 and 9 month pregnant momma was very happy about. We still mostly did stuff that involved air conditioning or water.
We spent a lot of time at the splash pad, playing in the sprinklers, and Beckett's little pool.
We had some of Tagg's cousin's over for a BBQ and their little girls had fun playing in the pool too.
Beckett got some new sunglasses which he wears ALL the time!
Tagg taught Beckett how to drive the remote control Jeep.
Beckett made his first purchase from the ice cream truck.
Now every time Beckett hears the music from the ice cream truck, he screams at the top of his lungs, "ice cream truck, ice cream truck!" He had just gotten out of the bath one night when he heard the music and had to take a peak out his window.
In Allen, they have a Summer Concert Series every Monday night for 6 weeks where lesser known bands and music groups perform and it's free to the public. Everyone brings their lawn chairs and blankets and listens to the music while the kids run around and play. It makes for a fun Family Home Evening and on the night we went the weather was perfect!
And of course, no summer would be complete without some ice cream! We've definitely had our fair share of ice cream this summer. There's no better treat on a hot summer day.
One thing I love about Tagg working from home is he can come in and play cars with Beckett for a few minutes during his lunch break. I'm not sure who loves it more, Beckett or Tagg.
We had a great 4th of July this year as well. It's fun to be on our own and start our own traditions as a family. We went to the Allen City Celebration the weekend before the 4th. Beckett had fun playing on the kid inflatables.
On the 4th of July, we had a yummy blueberry pancake breakfast. Then we went to a local parade. It was okay, but I was expecting more. It was mostly old cars and motorcycles driving by and then people from different groups and businesses walking and waving. No music really, no candy for the kids, and other than people waving flags, it didn't seem very patriotic to me. Oh well, hopefully next year we'll find a better parade to go to.
For dinner we had steak, potatoes, fruit and a patriotic fruit pizza. Tagg loves it and requests it every year. Tagg did an amazing job grilling the steaks. It was a perfect 4th of July meal.
We didn't watch any fireworks that night because the next night we were going to the Rangers game and there were fireworks after the game. I didn't want to keep Beckett up that late two nights in a row. And here are a few more random pictures from the past few months.
Beckett's been getting into all kinds of trouble.
He got a new Cars sleeping bag that he loves. However, he doesn't sleep in it. He sleeps on it and at the bottom of it where McQueen is.
Just checking up on the morning news before he starts his day.
We scored this trike for 10 bucks at Salvation Army. Beckett doesn't totally get how to push the pedals just yet, but he's working on it.

I love this post!!! I must admit I was a little sad not to see pictures of baby Griff, but Beckett is to die for cute. I love that picture of him checking the news and playing cars with Tagg! So fun!
