We drove down Thursday night and spent Friday hiding out at my mom and dad's house.
Friday night, she was meeting up with some of her friends for dinner but she had no clue we were all going to be there. My mom, dad, Jessica, Flint, and my family were sitting down at the restaurant with menus covering us so she wouldn't see us. When she walked in we started singing Happy Birthday. Once she got settled and the rest of her friends got there, Derek and Julie came in. Derek came up behind her and said, "Excuse me, you have way to many chips here." and he grabbed the basket of chips in front of her. It took her a minute to realize it was him, but she was so excited they were there too.
The rest of the weekend, we hung out at my parents house, played games and just spent time together. I made Megan this peanut butter birthday cake. It was delicious!
I love that my kids got to spend time with Derek and Julie because they don't see them too often.
We set Flint in front of Beckett so we could get a picture of the kids and Beckett put his little arm around Griff all on his own. So sweet.
Tired boy. Tired dad.
After church.
We had such a fun weekend. I love that almost all of our family is close enough to see on a somewhat regular basis. Now if we can just get Derek and Julie here! He's hoping to move here this summer, but he has to get a job first. We are praying it will happen!
